Discover the beauty of nature based textile and fibre art with Wendy Murray from Earth Art.

Wendy specialises in Botanical Print, Spinning Wheel and Textile Basketry Workshops.

From her studio in Hornsby Heights, Wendy teaches workshops for beginner to advanced students. The idyllic location with adjoining bushland allows attendees to connect with the natural world while learning new skills.

Earth Art’s Workshops focus on connecting to surrounding natural spaces for peace and wellness, and creating items from organic sources to reduce our artistic eco footprint.

Classes are available for individual or group bookings, including corporate team building workshops, and regularly receive 5 star reviews & return students.

Discovering botanical printing and dying has led Wendy’s own art practise down an endless path encountering the diversity of clean natural processes to create colour and pattern on paper and textiles.

Sharing the experience with others reinvigorates her own curiosity, and the questions asked by participants creates a wave of energy and participation that Wendy thoroughly enjoys. The natural curiosity of students after the completion of a workshop led Wendy to publish her first book, The Natural Dyers Notebook, Volume 1.

“This was the highlight of the year for our family! Wendy kindly offered a session on New Year’s Eve for our daughter’s birthday. Everything was perfect and it’s was an incredible gift for everyone. Wendy was so nice, and her garden was beautiful and peaceful. Words cannot describe how amazing this workshop is and how grateful we are!”

This was such a lovely class. Wendy had so many examples of her work which was inspiring & was full of knowledge on the topic. She grows a lot of her own plants for the class, tea & nibbles was the perfect break mid morning. I came home with a silk scarf & piece of thick cardboard (which i made some recycled paper & turned into notebooks). I’m now really excited to start experimenting with plants myself.

Wendy is an excellent teacher and kind, generous person. She customised the class to suit my needs and ability, provided high quality, varied materials and demonstrations in a dedicated studio with stunning views and ambience with inspirational craft and art on display. I came away with everything I needed to spin confidently in only 3 hours. Incredible value for money, fun and uplifting. I will be back if only for more fun and inspiration.

I recently did a wool spinning class with Wendy. She is a very friendly, enthusiastic and supportive teacher. All materials were supplied.
As a total beginner I came away feeling inspired to continue my own journey.

Good teacher. Good knowledge, good setting. Very helpful getting my spinning wheel set up. Had even offers to finish it off and contact me later on (Wheel is over 20 years old and not been used in forever)

Had so much fun in this class. Wendy was very experienced and was passionate about the subject. She thought us the process first and then let us be creative with the leaves and flowers she had collected for the class. She gave us creative ideas and helped us through the learning process. Loved it!
